Jeffrey Gangwisch: Television Production MA graduate

MA Television Production 2010-11

I am here thanks to the generosity of the US-UK Fulbright Commission and their partnership with University College Falmouth. I was investigating ways to fund my graduate schooling, and found the MA TV Production course at UCF listed as one of the eligible courses for the Fulbright award. I applied to Falmouth because it seemed the most intriguing institution to study at.

I am in a vastly different place than I was before the year began. I believe the course changed my perception of my potential within the industry and helped me aspire to higher goals. I think that the emphasis on professional, rather than technical, development is a virtue and among the more useful aspects of the course. The course leaders do an excellent job of pushing the students towards their professional goals.

Work experience opportunities have also helped me develop my skills and knowledge of the industry. In November 2010, Creative Enterprise Cornwall put me in touch with the Miracle Theatre Company to produce a trailer for their winter show - Beauty and the Beast from Mars. This summer I'm doing work experience in London on the BBC Proms while continuing to look for other opportunities.
