BA(Hons) Press & Editorial Photography - 2010-2013

For me Press & Editorial Photography at Falmouth is the perfect course. I researched thoroughly before applying to university, and there was no competition. As I was really keen to get on the course, I went to Press Gang Juniors - a day organised by UCF to give potential students an insight into what the course is about. This was 'a day in the life' of one of the Press Gang - working with students already on the course doing workshops and the like.

Having started the course, it has gone beyond my expectations. I like the way we are set projects at a fast pace - by the end of November we were already on our third project! We are left alone to work on projects in the way we work best, but have great tutoring every week to help us in the right direction. Also the equipment and facilities at Falmouth are some of the best, if not the best, in Europe. Alongside the photography projects we have Historical and Cultural studies, and Professional Practice, which gives us the skills and knowledge to become a professional photographer, right from the start.

What really makes it for me is the sense of community on the course. Our course leader works hard to make sure everything runs smoothly and that everyone is happy. His dedication to the course, and to the students and staff who make the course what it is, is what makes it a success.
