Ed Ryder & Bryan Stewart: Creative Advertising MA graduates

Immediately following graduation Ed Ryder and Bryan Stewart (MA Creative Advertising 08 to 09) joined 180 Amsterdam, an integrated advertising agency with a fantastic pedigree. 180 Amsterdam has a host of creative awards and was voted the best agency in the world at Cannes in 2005.

Ed Ryder and Bryan Stewart

Ed and Bryan believe the only reason they are working at such a cutting edge global agency is because of Falmouth. "We were offered a month placement here at 180 while we were on the course.  It was all organised by the tutors. Once we had finished the course we were invited back, on a 6 month contract. That contract has now been extended."

They continue that "the tutors at Falmouth make the course what it is. Their professional approach to running the course bridges the gap between work and education. Because of their successes within the industry they are able to offer opportunities that you can't find anywhere else."

Right now Ed and Bryan are busy working on a range of 180's largest global clients, which include big brand names in sports, beer, consumer electronics and finance. On arrival they were put on the Sony Europe pitch and have enjoyed their work since. Well known for its work for Adidas, 180 has offices in Amsterdam and Los Angeles with employees from around 31 different countries. Ed and Bryan are thoroughly enjoying their creative experience, having every opportunity to talk to the Managing Director and Executive Creative Director about their ideas, and presenting them to clients.

Ed and Bryan's advice to potential students is simple, "If you are serious about getting into advertising and are willing to put in the work - then go to Falmouth. It is a very competitive industry and Falmouth's past showed us that it was a good way in. Falmouth is the perfect place to study. It's peaceful if you need it to be, and lively when you want it to be. (And it's right beside the sea)."

As a testament to the quality of the Creative Advertising course Bryan and Ed confirm that "you'll meet ex Falmouth students working in the industry where ever you go". In fact they were lucky enough to meet Matt Fee and Tim Snape (a team who studied together at Falmouth 13 years ago) when they began their 180 on placement.
