BA(Hons) Broadcasting*

I work in digital marketing for The Walt Disney Company Europe, Middle East & Africa, implementing digital marketing plans to support shows like Lost and Desperate Housewives, Disney's kids' content such as Hannah Montana and High School Musical, plus feature films like Toy Story 3. It's exhilarating working in such a fast-paced and evolving area for a leading global entertainment business.

Studying at Falmouth really prepared me for the inner workings of the entertainment industries. The theoretical parts of the course helped develop my interest in digital business to a more refined knowledge that I could apply at a career level - my dissertations and case studies were all based on new media consumption, from Video On Demand to Mp3, which really helps in my day-to-day job.

As a relatively new University College, Falmouth keeps an open mind on new and developing media. When I was there, a lot of digital media was still just beginning (this was pre-iPlayer!), so it could have been easy for the course to rely on ‘old-school' theories - but the lecturers were always very open minded to new technologies and media consumption, which you have to have in this ever-changing industry.
