Azi Farni: Broadcasting BA(Hons) graduate

BA(Hons) Broadcasting*

My final project before graduation was a short film that won an RTS award. Since then I've been working in television on World Cup 2006, Football Italia, World Rally Championship and currently MotoGP. I'm a producer/reporter also doing a bit of voiceover, commentary and development work in documentary and factual programming.

Falmouth's facilities are amazing. There's so much to use and if you show a genuine interest in doing something, the technical instructors will go out of their way to help you. I remember Alan Barnes teaching four of us how to use blue screen. It wasn't part of the course at the time but we wanted to know and he was happy to take time out to teach us. We were the only group to use it for a project but we were the only ones who asked.

There are cameras, edit suites, studios and great locations, all ready to be used. I also liked how we studied different genres and formats for programming. The most important thing though is not just the equipment training but the three years of creativity. I was constantly learning, developing and exploring and wrote a lot of short films in that time, while developing original ideas in film-making, cinematography and editing.
