I've really enjoyed this course. The close links it has with industry partners is one of the main reasons I'd recommend it to others. The skills I've gained from the technical machinery here will be really useful for my future career, as well as the experience passed down by the industry mentors who are brought in to talk to us.
Helly Hansen in Norway was my first choice for a summer internship. I've had an interest in the brand since 2006, and have now been working with them for three months. Their work covers three main categories: work, survival and sport. I've mainly been helping them with the sport category - but have also participated towards their survival gear fits. I've been attending fit meetings, helping to quality assess samples, co-creating their new season's colours and also doing some design, CAD and pattern grading winter 2010 samples on their Accumark system. The communication skills learnt on the course have helped me liaise effectively between both development and design departments. I think the whole experience will be really beneficial when I've graduated.
