I've graduated with a confidence about my knowledge of textiles processes, and a real belief that I learned skills I'll always keep with me.
BA(Hons) Textile Design (Mixed Media) 2006 - 2009
Being selected to exhibit at New Designers in London was a brilliant experience. I met lots of interesting people from the industry, organised a work placement and got press in Embroidery magazine. Private sales and a freelance job selling work through an online boutique have also come as a result of doing the show. I was approached by John Lewis and was the graduate intern in their Home Design Studio for a year.
I feel very lucky and extremely grateful to have been so busy since graduating. The course at Falmouth definitely prepared me well for starting my career. The tutors always stressed the importance of professionalism, and the working environment rewarded hard work and creativity. The emphasis on techniques and quality of drawing was something I really valued.
I've graduated with a confidence about my knowledge of textiles processes, and a real belief that I learned skills I'll always keep with me. The thing I valued most however was the unfaltering support from the tutors.
