Insight Day for Art & Design Tutors

The first such event, held by the Department of Design in February 2010, was held in recognition that changes to the UCAS admissions system made it increasingly difficult for Foundation tutors to advise their students through the application process. Our tutors regularly travel to Foundation courses around the country offering advice and insight into their subject and courses, and we felt that bringing those Foundation tutors to Falmouth could provide a more tangible experience.
Our Insight Day for tutors aims to introduce or reacquaint guests with Falmouth's staff, students and facilities, to help them feel better equipped to advise their own students applying to study at Falmouth, and to facilitate building relationships with our specialist staff. UCF staff provide the view and experience of one specialist Art and Design HE institution, alongside what is a superb opportunity for tutors to network with one another, discussing current issues in Foundation level education.
Building on the success of February's design-orientated event, our next event for Art & Design tutors will take place in the summer term of 2011. A date will be announced shortly, to coincide with our end of year shows.
