International student orientation

Arrival in the UK

We run a three-day programme packed with activities, social events, trips and information sessions to welcome you to Falmouth and to the UK.

We start with a free coach pick-up service from London Heathrow to University College Falmouth. We have a dedicated team of ambassadors to meet you at the airport and accompany you to Falmouth to make your arrival here as stress-free as possible. When you arrive at Falmouth we will assist you in moving into your accommodation and finding your way around the Campus.

Throughout the programme we run information sessions to ensure that you have details of all the advice, help and support you may want to use during your stay here. Practical sessions include talks from a number of key services within UCF such as finance services, academic support, the International society, equality and diversity and the Students' Union.

As well as helping you to settle into the university environment, orientation provides opportunities to explore other parts of Cornwall. Each year we offer trips to famous places in the region including The Eden Project, Tate St Ives  and the coast to coast cycle path.

Orientation programme 2011

New international and exchange students are invited to participate in our orientation programme each year. It's a great opportunity for you to find your feet during what can sometimes be a challenging and confusing time.

We offer the chance to meet fellow students, register to use the IT facilities, meet course leaders, and get invaluable advice on things such as setting up a bank account, organising healthcare and finding out about the support that Student Services can provide. We also help you to settle into your new surroundings with a tour of both campuses and the wider Falmouth area.

We organise a trip to the Eden Project with its world-famous ‘Biomes', and the Saturday Extra event where you can choose to cycle cost-to-coast taking in the breathtaking Cornish landscape, visit the sub-tropical gardens at Trebah, or appreciate local and global modern art at the Tate St Ives.
