Postgraduate funding

A year of full time postgraduate study is likely to cost a UK student around £8,000 plus tuition fees. Postgraduate courses are not supported by the Student Loans Company and there is no mandatory funding, so you will need to put together your own funding package. This is likely to consist of a loan or scholarship, savings, part time work, and awards from charities, foundations and trusts. Use the below funding guide to investigate potential funding sources.

The Prospects Postgraduate Funding Guide will also help you get started: www.prospects.ac.uk/funding.

Apply early to Falmouth if you can, and if successful at interview, accept your place as soon as possible. This will give you more time to arrange your finances and to apply for major sources of funding whose competitions have an early deadline, such as the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC): A Summary of the application process
This paper summarises the AHRC application guidance, which is available on the AHRC's own website (www.ahrc.ac.uk).  Whilst applicants are strongly advised to consult the help and advice on the AHRC and Je-S websites, this summary may prove useful in ensuring you have a clear idea of everything that is required. These notes are aimed at applicants who have already investigated - and have a basic understanding of - the AHRC competition.
