Interview expenses

Candidates living outside Cornwall who are invited to attend an interview will be eligible for reimbursement of expenses in accordance with University College guidelines which we will send with the invitation to interview.

Pay

Staff receive an increment on 1 September each year (subject to satisfactory service and performance) until they reach the maximum spine point within their grade. Discretionary increments may subsequently be awarded (subject to affordability) for excellent performance.

Working hours

The core opening hours for the University College are 8.45am to 5.15pm, Monday to Thursday and 8.45am to 4.45pm on Friday. Full-time staff are required to work 35 hours per week. The exact timing of your working week is to be agreed with your line manager, having the needs of the operational service area in mind.

All staff are permitted one hour for lunch, unless otherwise stated within individual contracts of employment.

Probationary period

All support staff positions are subject to the satisfactory completion of a twelve month probationary period.

All new academic positions are subject to the satisfactory completion of a three year probationary period.

Green travel policy

The University College has a Green Travel Policy, a component of which states, ‘for essential car users, the University College’s limited car parking resources are allocated equitably and strictly according to policy’.
