Studying at University can be demanding and ASK: Academic Skills are here to help you. The skills needed for academic study in Higher Education are ultimately developed through studying at this level and can develop through practice, reflection, feedback and through trial and error over the course of time.

However, there are many starting points which ASK can offer you to help develop good practice within your studies. This could be in a number of areas, such as:

  • Developing note taking skills
  • Improving time management and organisational skills
  • Planning to get through the workload
  • Presentation skills
  • Building confidence in public speaking
  • Building strategies to get through the reading list

We can also help you identify your particular learning styles to make the most of your natural strengths, and to adopt techniques where you are weaker.
