Business start-up package

Business incubation space available in the Design Centre, University College Falmouth

The Business Start-up facilities at our Tremough Campus consist of an open-plan office in the newly built Design Centre; providing desk space, small lockable storage, telephone and a networked PC.

Other facilities included as part of the package are:

• Reception services, including mail and fax handling
• Use of bookable meeting room
• Use of refreshment facilities and common social area
• Building maintenance, including cleaning and refuge disposal
• Membership of the library at Tremough
• Internet access
• UK telephone calls

You can also access other facilities for a charge:

• Access to Design Centre specialised equipment
• Hire of presentation equipment
• Conference facilities
• Access to reprographics department
• Parking (not guaranteed)

The Business Incubation space is available on a hot desking system, which is bookable for up to 6 months at a time on a Pay As You Go system @ £6.00 per day

Your business proposal must be related to one of the following:

• 3D Design (including Product Design),
• Industrial Design
• Garden Design
• Graphic Design
• Spatial Design
• Textile Design
• Contemporary craft
• Fashion
• Architecture

You will need to complete a short application where you will demonstrate the following:

1. How the unique benefits of being located at Tremough will help your plans
2. How your proposal relates to the courses run at the Design Centre
3. How you will improve profitability and grow beyond sole trader status in Cornwall
4. How you plan to contribute to the wider design community in Cornwall.

If you are short listed you will then be invited to present your proposition and your business plan.
