New Careers Advisory Service website launched
Senior Careers Adviser, Jon Christie and his team have launched a new Careers Advisory Service website,which can be found at http://careers.falmouth.ac.uk
For the first time, this website brings together a whole host of information that can be accessed externally by current students and graduates, staff and employers. Students and graduates will now be able to access careers information and resources that are specific to each of Falmouth’s undergraduate courses. Resources range from web links; job profiles; industry journals; and the books that are available in our careers library, to live job vacancies for graduates; part-time jobs; work experience placements; bursaries and awards. The site also includes all the freelance opportunities that the Careers Service receives which greatly enhance the employability of our graduates.
Information for staff outlines the many ways in which the Service can work more closely with courses and students, and promotes the need for a two-way flow of information about vacancies and opportunities. The employers section suggests ways in which companies and organisations can engage more effectively with our students, courses and facilities.
Future developments include linking the vacancy site to www.gradsouthwest.com as well as a facility whereby employers can post their own vacancies directly onto the site.
University College Falmouth is a founding partner in the Combined Universities in Cornwall (CUC), a unique initiative to promote regional economic regeneration through Higher Education. The CUC is funded mainly by the European Union (Objective One), the South West Regional Development Agency, and the Higher Education Funding Council for England, with support from Cornwall County Council.
