Our students and graduates get a lot of support to help launch their careers. Many of them go on to set up their own business. Here are some of the opportunities our students benefit from.
Unlocking Cornish Potential
Unlocking Cornish Potential (UCP) places graduates with businesses in Cornwall and is a fantastic way to find the career you want when you graduate. UCP runs placements and internship schemes as well as supporting business start-ups.
With UCP's graduate employment scheme you can:
- Manage a project central to a business' development, for six to twelve months.
- Benefit from £100s worth of business skills training
- Receive a salary that's at least £16k per annum.
- Meet and network with other graduates on the programme at workshops and social events.
- Improve your future employability - 70% of UCP graduates are offered a permanent position after their placement.

Creative enterprise
The Creative Enterprise team are involved with many initiatives in the cultural sector as well as providing research and outreach services to businesses across the whole of the South West.
Creating Cultural Leadership South West is a programme supporting collaboration across sectors. Its economic benefit is valued at over £6.4 million and the programme comprises of workshops, smaller action learning groups and individual mentoring. This is just one scheme in the cultural sector where Falmouth is a key partner.
Creative Enterprise is currently developing collaborative opportunities for students, which will support them working with local businesses
Business incubation
We run an innovative business incubation scheme to provide graduates with premises and continuing advice, to help you get your business ventures off the ground.
