pdf Performance courses - additional information (994.71 KB)

Designed for students wishing to combine the acting, directing and devising skills associated with live theatre with the exciting new fields opened up by media and technology, this innovative course will arm you with the necessary skills and understanding to succeed in a range of careers across theatre, television, film and web.

Learning effective use of the voice and body, you'll work with texts, spaces and objects, and multiply your creativity by collaborating with others (particularly in the School of Media). You'll also experiment with using video, sound and digital media alongside live performance - both in the studio and less conventional spaces.

Making performance work specifically for the screen, you'll become adept at working both in front of and behind the camera, and explore the possibilities of web-based performance. Developing techniques for research, composition and analysis, the course also looks at the histories of multimedia performance, interactive arts practices and the role of the audience - giving you a solid foundation from which to succeed on your chosen path.
