MA Photography - additional information (1.32 MB)
This postgraduate photography degree is for those who are fascinated and puzzled by photographs. The photography course invites you to develop your own distinctive way of using the medium’s diverse capacities to amuse, satisfy, astonish and inform.
Photography is both a part of everyday life and a medium of discovery. Here, you’ll explore what contemporary photography is and does, and how you, as a creative practitioner, can engage with it.
On application you’ll be asked to propose a project that will form the basis of your study, from which you’ll develop your photographic practice under the guidance of our accomplished staff. You’ll have access to specialist technologies to enable you to explore, experiment and discover, finding your own interpretation of what photography is.
We want to make you think about how photographs shape us, our memories, our sense of self and history. Through a fusion of practice and theory, you’ll reinforce your personal and practical development with critical understanding and maximise your potential for a career in photography.
The Peter Lanyon Building provides specialist facilities for University College Falmouth and the University of Exeter. It includes University College Falmouth’s new £7m state-of-the-art Photography Centre and Digital Animation Studio, together with enhanced media facilities, where new BA(Hons) degrees in Marine & Natural History Photography, Press Photography and Digital Animation are now offered for the first time.
More information about these new facilities is available here.
