Facilitating top results

Whether it’s stimulating surroundings or specialist technology that you’re looking for, the space and resources at University College Falmouth are impressive. Woodlane's inspirational garden campus houses light and airy studio spaces, whilst at Tremough, the spacious open-plan Design Centre, the granite and glass Media Centre and the new Photography Centre give you access to a wide range of high-end equipment.

At Falmouth, you’ll have access to a broad range of specialist facilities across the Art, Design and Media spectrum to ensure you get the most out of your studies.

The purpose-built Photography Centre is the newest addition to Falmouth’s range of state-of-the-art provisions. The new centre houses a range of facilities to support both traditional silver-based imaging as well as the latest digital photography.

There are well-equipped darkrooms and film and paper processing machines cater for traditional film use. Digital users have access to two fully colour managed digital suites with professional-quality film scanners and Adobe Photoshop CS2 software. These have the ability to output to a digital LED printer or large format inkjet printer. There are a range of film and digital cameras plus other photographic equipment available for loan. All this is supported by expert (and very helpful) staff, who’ll guide you in getting to grips with the equipment and techniques.

Other facilities include a TV studio, 14 AVID edit suites, a well stocked equipment store with a range of cameras and related items, an IT Suite with audio editing and graphics software, and a 106-seat cinema.

A full refurbishment of the Media Centre took place in the summer of 2007, with the newsroom extended to 45 workstations, a brand new talk studio with three radio control rooms, four dedicated Pro-Tools audio post-production rooms with 5.1 surround sound capability and a brand-new animation studio to support our new BA(Hons) in Digital Animation.
