The course is the only one of its kind that concentrates on art and design of the 20th century and allows part-time study. This really appealed to me as I was keen on both continuing working and spending an extended period of time on my studies. This MA has allowed me to really develop a critical awareness of contemporary culture, focusing my research interests independently and involving myself thoroughly in my chosen area in order to influence and inspire career choices. The annual study trips are a fantastic part of the course, as were my work placements at Falmouth Art Gallery and The Liebermann Villa, Berlin. These placements were possible due to the flexibility and part-time nature of the course and have been invaluable in preparing me for my chosen career. Laura Smith, graduate
