"Funded jointly by University College Falmouth, the University of Exeter and the Diocese of Truro, facilities currently include a quiet room for reflection, meditation, contemplation, prayer and worship, and a team drawn from local faith communities who can help provide worship opportunities for members of different faith groups, cultures and traditions. We are constantly seeking to make connections with the wider community and, in particular, with different expressions of faith and worship, and this visit was a tangible manifestation of our commitment in that respect."

University College Falmouth and the University of Exeter plan to enhance the Chaplaincy's facilities during the current phase of development at Tremough in line with the planned increase in student numbers to between 4,400 and 5,000 by 2015.

The multi-million-pound Tremough Campus is a Combined Universities in Cornwall initiative of which University College Falmouth and the University of Exeter are two of the founding partners. It is funded mainly by the European Union (Objective One), the South West Regional Development Agency, and the Higher Education Funding Council for England, with support from Cornwall Council.

Set in 95 acres, and close to the waterside towns of Falmouth and Penryn, the Tremough Campus offers a lively student community and an innovative range of degree courses. University College Falmouth offers undergraduate degrees in Advertising, Contemporary Crafts, Creative Events Management, Digital Animation, Digital Media, English with Creative Writing, English with Media Studies, Film, Garden Design, Interior Design, Journalism, Marine & Natural History Photography, Photography, Press & Editorial Photography, Public Relations, Spatial Design, Textile Design, 3D Design and BA(Hons) Writing, as well as MAs in Design, International Journalism, Multimedia Broadcast Journalism, Photography, Professional Writing and Television Production, whilst the University of Exeter offers degrees in Biology, Cornish Studies, English, Geology, Geography, History, Law, Mining Engineering, Politics and Renewable Energy.

University College Falmouth is the only independent Higher Education institution in Cornwall with the powers to award degrees in its own name. It has two campuses in Cornwall - at Woodlane in Falmouth and Tremough in Penryn (which it owns, and jointly manages with the University of Exeter) - and a third campus at Totnes in Devon, following its merger with Dartington College of Arts in 2008.

This merger created a new institution focusing on the expansion of Falmouth's expertise in Art, Design and Media and Dartington's expertise in Choreography, Music, Theatre, Art and Writing. The Devon-based courses will relocate to a new, high-specification Performance Centre at Tremough in 2010, paving the way for a new specialist Arts University in Cornwall by 2012/2013 that will be unique to the South West.
