The employability of International Journalism graduates

The first graduates from University College Falmouth’s ground-breaking MA in International Journalism have already won jobs in global news organisations, leapfrogging local and regional news outlets.

Now over to the students themselves:

“Thanks to the practical focus of my MA, I was able to make myself more useful than most Sky trainees. Crucially I knew how to write news. I've since been taken on as a producer on the World News show. My MA was instrumental in this. At the end of the day, being successful in news is down to the individual and how hard they're willing to work. What the course at Falmouth does is put you in a position to realise your own potential and give you a real shot at achieving it." Mike Sunderland, Producer, Sky News

”The course gave me a real insight into the world of media and a foot in the door for starting my career. If it wasn't for the course I would never have had my time at The Daily Telegraph and the Associated Press, and been able to sell parts of my documentary to Reuters. The course leader’s expert advice and contacts throughout the media world gave us all a footup when entering the profession.” Edgar Morse, Freelance News Producer

Now over to Course Leader, George Matheson: “It’s great to see the first students from this course finding work at such a high level within the industry and proves that with the right training, you can achieve that straight from University.”
