Photography students triumph at Fuji Film Student Awards 2006

Students on University College Falmouth’s critically acclaimed BA(Hons) Photography course were recently awarded the prize of a Fujifilm Professional refrigerator containing £500 worth of Fujifilm Professional film for submitting the most entries for this year’s Fuji Film Student Awards.

The Fuji Film Student Competition annually showcases new photographic talent emerging from universities and colleges across the UK. The competition is open to all students undertaking full or part-time professional photographic training, or full or part-time graphic design training of which photography is a major part.

“We were looking for images that summed up typical British life,” says Jerry Deeney of Fujifilm Professional. “Students could submit as many images as they liked online. All entries were shot on Fujifilm Professional film.”

The competition judging panel included professional photographer Dean Chalkley, photographic retoucher Glen Taylor from Taylor James, and design guru Wayne Hemingway.

Two new and innovative courses are starting in September 2007; BA(Hons) Press Photography and BA(Hons) Marine and Natural History Photography, both of which will continue to place us at the forefront of photographic education in the UK.”
