For the second consecutive year, Gendall Design, one of Cornwall's leading design agencies, has been recognised in the prestigious Media Innovation Awards, this year bagging two of the honours which celebrate excellence in screen-based media and design across the South West.

The Falmouth-based agency fought off stiff competition in both the digital and print categories, walking away with two more Awards to add to last year's win in the digital category. Gendall provided the creative impetus behind the web site for Dott (Designs of the Time) Shot (www.dottshot.com) - a site aimed at getting people to select images representing what inspires them about Cornwall. The project is part of a wider Dott initiative that brings communities and designers together to generate solutions to major social and economic challenges. The site won the ‘Community Web Use' category, with judges remarking on the "masses of organically delivered content" and the original "coherent, empty canvas style navigation".

Andrea Siodmok, Dott's Programme Director said, "Gendall exceeded our expectations with their creative and technical expertise on Dott Shot. We had a simple idea - to invite people in Cornwall to show us what they thought represented designs of the time - and Gendall created a unique and striking platform for social networking that really works. A real testament to teamwork, client, designers and end-users working together."

Gendall is also the design agency behind University College Falmouth's (UCF) 2009/2010 prospectus, with the resulting publication triumphing in the ‘Print Graphics' category, which rewards innovation in a graphic design project for print. Judges described the UCF prospectus as "engaging and stylish, showing the virtues of the organisation in an honest and straightforward way."

Jilly Easterby, UCF's Head of Public Affairs and Editor of Prospectus 2010, said, "University College Falmouth is committed to design excellence and Gendall can always be relied upon to deliver quality, creativity and flair. It was a pleasure to work with Gendall on this publication and I congratulate everyone involved on this significant and well-deserved success."

Tess Gendall, founder and managing director of Gendall Design, said, "It is fantastic to be recognised for two such diverse Awards for the second year running, and I am so pleased that the hard working team at Gendall has been recognised in this way. Our work here spans print and digital and takes many creative forms, and the two Awards are a great testament to the results we continue to get for our clients. We will certainly be aiming for the triple next year!"
