Continuing Professional Development Unit launches business communications courses

The Continuing Professional Development Unit at University College Falmouth has launched three one-day courses in effective business writing, an introduction to social media and maximising social media for business. All three courses will run in late February and further courses are in development.

Introduction to Effective Business Writing - Piers Alder

The ability to write clear, compelling and original copy is a key business skill. Whether you need to communicate internally with precision and impact, deepen relationships with existing customers, or find creative ways to attract new clients, language is your primary tool - and this course will show you how to use it confidently and effectively. Completing the course will provide you with a very marketable skill that will significantly enhance your employability and career prospects.

Introduction to Social Media as a Business Tool - Daisy Griffith

Social media has rapidly become important as a marketing, PR and customer relations tool. Any business that does not have an effective social media strategy is at a distinct disadvantage in terms of visibility and the ability to generate sales. This course will teach the basics of social media, what is out there, what works, what doesn't and will give you the confidence to develop a basic social media strategy that fits your aims and outcomes.

Maximising the Impact of Social Media for Business - Daisy Griffith

This course will teach you how to measure the effectiveness of your existing social media strategy and how to improve on it. You will learn the importance of the content and tone of your social media presence, how to listen effectively to what is being said about your brand and your competitors, and how to use that information to gain a competitive edge.
