IT training is available to students in various forms.

Workshops

Every term posters are displayed and emails sent to all students about the workshops available.

Examples of some of the topics and computer programs covered in the IT workshops are:

  • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign
  • Adobe Dreamweaver & Flash (Web design)
  • Microsoft PowerPoint (Digital presentations)
  • How to use a scanner

You will be given details of workshops during your IT induction

We provide specialist training to many courses. Please ask your tutor for information.

Qualifications

Adobe Certified Associate Qualification (ACA)

The ACA is an entry-level certification aimed at validating communication skills using a particular digital medium.

University College Falmouth provides the ACA qualification in: Visual Communication using Adobe Photoshop, Rich Media Communication using Flash, and Web Communication using Dreamweaver. The qualification is free of charge to all UCF students.

ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence)

University College Falmouth is a test centre for the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL), an internationally and industry recognised qualification.

Our resources are suitable for the complete beginner, as well as more experienced computer users. ECDL comprises 7 modules which you must pass, in order to achieve the qualification.

The modules cover all the main Microsoft Office applications, email, internet, basic concepts of IT and managing files. Enrolment fees apply to this course, please ask IT for further details.
