Private sector accommodation

Private sector accommodation imagePrivate-Sector Accommodation is abundant - both rooms in shared houses and self-catering bed-sits. In the private sector the standard of housing is high. "My friends in private housing live in nice family-style houses that are generally well decorated and have gardens," says Lottie. "I took the first house I saw when I came down," says Larry Jarrett-Kerr from Creative Advertising. "It's big, has superb sea views, and it's cheap!"

Contemporary Crafts student, Helen Fresson, loves living in her house: "The situation is fantastic: most places are within easy walking distance and I love the sea view and having a nice garden to sit in," she says. "I moved in with five people who I'd never met before; we're all on different courses and in different years so it was a great way to get to know other students. Moving away from home for the first time was exciting but also a bit daunting. Living with other students is great as we're all in the same boat and help each other out."
