Our future plans with Dartington

The year 2010 marks a vital milestone in our evolution towards Arts University Cornwall, as we welcome the students, staff and researchers from our Dartington Campus to high-specification, purpose-built facilities in our brand new Performance Centre on the Tremough Campus.

View from the refectory, image by Kim Clarke BA(Hons) PhotographyWe know that moving away to university is a big change that can be a daunting prospect at times. Where will I live? Who will I live with? How will I make new friends? Do I have everything I need for my course? We understand the uncertainty you may feel, because we support new students through this period every year and know that it's completely normal. However, one thing you won't have to worry about is the move from Dartington to Cornwall - we've introduced a number of initiatives to make the transition as smooth as possible. Our expert team of advisers and supportive staff are also here to help you every step of the way.

Relocation Guide

Welcome to the Dartington Campus Relocation Book (The Black Book!). Its purpose is to offer all you need to know about the relocation project in one place, from our departure from this Campus, to our soft landing at Tremough and Woodlane and our occupation of the new facilities at both sites.

Making new friends

  • Helpme forum. Our hugely popular online chat forum, http://www.falmouth.ac.uk/helpme puts you in touch with other students before you arrive.
  • FXU As Dartington Campus students, you'll automatically become members of our Students' Union, FXU. There's a great selection of clubs and societies that you can join, as well as community action groups - so you could be surfing, camping, going on theatre trips, debating at EcoSoc, helping with community arts projects or planting trees with your Falmouth peers long before you live here!
