Woodlane Campus

“Walking through gardens full of exotic plants, breathing in the sea air and bumping into friends every step you take – all on your way to college? it doesn’t get much better than that!” Alasdair Lindsay, Fine Art graduate

Everyone is enthusiastic about the campus, because, quite simply, there is nowhere else like it. “It’s got a special feel to it,” Illustration: Authorial Practice postgraduate, Sue Corke, explains. “In the winter the period buildings and drawn in evenings make it really atmospheric, and in spring everyone sits out in the gardens in between working - it’s a great place to study.”

shot of Woodlane campus Less than half a mile from the original Falmouth School of Art (which now houses MA Fine Art: Contemporary Practice), and close to the two Foundation Studies studios, Woodlane forms the bustling hub of student life within Falmouth. Its on-site bar and refectory, subtropical gardens and relaxed, friendly atmosphere means that students tend to spend more than just your average 9-5 here. “My studio at Woodlane felt more like an extension of my home,” Sue continues. “I was able to really make the space my own so that I felt comfortable and confident working there.”

Home to BA(Hons) Fashion Design, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, Journalism, Performance Sportswear Design and Public Relations, and providing facilities for MA Creative Advertising and MA 20th Century Art & Design: Histories & Theories, the creative buzz about the place is hard to ignore.

“There’s a really stimulating vibe to the place. It’s always bustling with activity, inside and out – it just breeds originality.” Anna Sweet, MA Creative Advertising graduate
