Leah Miles

Award winning designer maker Leah Miles creates beautiful sculptural jewellery. Her work is inspired by the Cornish coastline and her fascination for the overlooked qualities of discarded materials.

Predominantly created from waste paper, her work questions the traditional opinions of preciousness, and challenges the existing notions of disposability and re use.

Her unique handmaking process hides, then reveals delicate flowing lines and fragments of colour and text. This process is partly controlled, whilst retaining elements of unpredictability.

The pieces function both as wearable pieces of body adornment and as sculptural objects of the body.

Her experimental approach, together with the instantly recognisable aesthetic of her work, have gained her international exhibitions and awards from the Crafts Council, The Association of Contemporary Jewellery, NESTA and the Arts Council England.
