Charlotte Tangye

Charlotte Tangye has produced a series of pendant lampshades - each one depicting a scene from the South West coast.

The lampshades are made of paper and fabric - with laser etched or digitally printed detail and laser cut outlines. The layers of material build up each scene from the inside out, creating a sense of depth and a sense of discovery. When the lights are turned off the outer surfaces are almost plain, when the lights are turned on the shades reveal their full image.

The lampshades range in size from a small pendant shade, where the whole scene can be taken in at once, to a huge shade that visitors can stand under, viewing the 360° panorama from the inside and outside.
