Spillage Brooch

Alice McLean's work is inspired by journeys, from the mundane to the extraordinary. This brooch is a way of documenting journeys for the wearer.

The series of mazes represent a map-like path and ink is contained within the brooch sealed with rubber bungs. It is up to the wearer's discretion as to when the bungs are released and the ink pours out. The ink pattern that remains varies on every trip due to different motions, leaving a record of that particular journey.

It will seem at first that the ink will stain and ruin the journey, however it shortly fades away.
