The FTSE Scarf is a reaction to the current economic climate, in a medium not usually associated with the stock market.

For a period of three months I knitted a scarf as a three dimensional representation of the stock prices of the FTSE100. I wanted to see what would happen when I let external influence govern my actions, so I knitted the number of points the shares were worth each day.

The concept of having constantly changing data, easily accessible but in a laborious format not easily changed, appealed to me. I wanted to make something of value out of numbers that are continually being replaced and mean little to the majority of people. So get your FTSE scarf on, it's cold out there.
