Work by Carol Mackenzie GaleA lifelong fascination with the abstraction of geometry has provided my latest inspiration, working with colours and shapes from tankers and lorries. The study is ongoing and is linked to exploring the creation of innovative large experimental wall hangings and ‘wearable art'. I have also been working directly onto silk in a state of deep meditation - Zazen - the struggle for pure harmony, balance and simplicity.

I work from a smallholding in rural Devon, ‘Studio on the Hill', where I create often one off pieces, printed and painted using the finest silks, to last several lifetimes. Influences include Shihoko Fukumoto and Yoji Yamamohto, Terry Frost, Bridget Riley, shadows, geometry and architectural shapes. My work has been described as ‘timeless and striking', and has been sold through Liberty of London, The V&A London and Neaman Marcus, Dallas.
