Dissertation

Level: 3
Length of unit (when it runs): Autumn term, 10 weeks
Credits: 40 CATS/20 ECTS

Description:

The unit requires that students research and organise their own data for research towards a dissertation or extended case study. You will benefit from a series of lectures on advanced study skills and methodologies, and subsequently begin your research, supported by tutorials. Your chosen topic will reflect some aspects and perspectives learnt during the course to date. While it doesn't have to be about news journalism, your assessors will expect it to reflect those studies, and it will probably derive from your own interests.

Assessment:

1 dissertation, 12,000 words or equivalent
