The Media Centre is a high specification facility, fully equipped for every aspect of media production. Constantly evolving to match changes within the industry, the Media Centre provides a professional working environment whatever your area of interest. The technical support also enables your developing skills to keep pace with your creative ideas.
Facilities include:
- Newsroom with live independent radio news feed and 43 networked workstations including professional scriptwriting and editing software.
- Television studio and gallery with green screen, three camera control units, 48-way lighting desk, high-definition monitors and 8-channel vision mixer.
- Radio studios with three control rooms, each able to drive the talk studio.
- 22 AVID Media Composer video edit suites with 5.1 surround sound capability.
- Recording studio and audio post production suites with Pro Tools HD for sound design and editing, and 5.1 surround sound capability.
- Digital production suite with Adobe Creative Suite and After Effects software for creating motion graphics and visual effects.
- Digital animation studio including 30 workstations equipped with industry-standard software, stop motion animation facilities and specialist desks and lighting for animation drawing.
- Equipment store with a range of cameras, tripods, monitors, microphones, DVD players, PA systems, lights, film dollies and tracks.
- 106-seat cinema
- Specialist technical staff to support all the facilities and enable students to work confidently with all the equipment available.
