AIAS Conference 2009

Falmouth, Cornwall

Welcome to the 2009 AIAS Annual Conference, hosted by University College Falmouth, UK, from 2 - 6 November.

AIAS Exhibition This year's theme: ‘the relationship between the visual arts and ecological thinking,' makes Cornwall - as famous for its rich industrial heritage as its artist colonies and dramatic coastline - an ideal location in which to explore concepts of the environment and society's impact on it as a source of creative inspiration.

The week long event is broken down into two sections:

2-4 November will feature a series of practical, artist-led workshops situated at sites around Falmouth and West Cornwall.

5-6 November is the symposium - the theoretical part of the event, with the presentation of academic papers and a meeting of the AIAS General Assembly. The Prize of Honour will be awarded at a reception on Friday, 6 November.

Deadlines:

Submission of registration form and payment of fees: Friday 9 October
