Eden Project workshop

We work closely with local and regional organisations, including the Eden Project, Rogue Theatre and Kernow Arts Education Partnership (KEAP)

New Academy of Performing Arts

We coordinate Compact and Recognition Agreements with Cornish schools, giving pupils additional advice and guidance about Higher Education

UCAS fair

Our staff and student ambassadors attend approximately 100 UCAS, education and careers fairs around the country throughout the year

Appledore Visual Arts Festival

The UK Recruitment & Outreach (UKR&O) team develop and coordinate a wide variety of activities, events and programmes for the purpose of student recruitment and widening participation. Through the formulation and delivery of a range of on and off-campus events from open days, taster days and summer schools to UCAS fairs and community events, the UKR&O team cover it all.

The mission of UKR&O is to raise the aspirations of people, young or older, whilst engaging them with the creative arts and Higher Education.

About UK Recruitment & Outreach

University College Falmouth offers a variety of services to schools, colleges and potential entrants into Higher Education across the UK. Our aim is to harness the knowledge and expertise established at Falmouth in order to provide a top service for under-represented groups in university education. We hope to broaden and inspire minds, and foster a genuine interest in arts education, university life and study.

Our exciting and comprehensive programme of activities includes open days, taster days/master classes, summer schools, in-school mentoring, information and guidance (IAG) sessions, and the development and implementation of our Recognition, Compact and Progression Agreements.

UCAS, the Universities & Colleges Admissions Service, hosts fairs and conventions around the country each year and we attend many of these events.

Campus tours ( 1 items )
For visitors unable to attend our general open days, we also organise regular campus tours during term-time. Tours are conducted by current students at University College Falmouth and give you a chance to view the facilities on campus. The students can tell you first-hand about living and studying at Falmouth, and we encourage you to ask as many questions as you can.

UK Recruitment & Outreach deliver a programme of high quality art, design, media and performance activities within the local and wider community of Cornwall. This programme provides opportunities for school pupils and community groups to engage in creativity and aim to improve knowledge and understanding of studying the arts at Higher Education level.

The team train and employ student ambassadors to help deliver and support outreach activities throughout the year. This enriches undergraduate learning and helps to strengthen the relationship between the University College and local schools and community groups. The team work closely in partnership with many local arts organisations and venues such as KEAP (Kernow Education Arts Partnership), Falmouth Museum & Art Gallery, The National Maritime Museum Cornwall, Gyllyngdune Gardens, The National Trust and The Poly.

Recent outreach projects have included a major community mural design for Penryn Station, site-specific sculpture for Gyllyngdune Gardens, interior design for a local pre-school and art and design workshops in primary schools in the Falmouth and Penryn area.

New outreach initiatives include Saturday Art Clubs for 11-14 year olds as well as further involvement in local community events and festivals such as Falmouth Spring Festival, Love Parks Week, Falmouth Tea Festival, The Big Draw and Global Gardens.
